The Honorable Michael A. Guido
July 3, 1954 - December 5, 2006
It is with sorrow that the National Advisory Council and Staff of the Mayors' Institute on City Design announce the death of the Honorable Michael A. Guido on December 5th, 2006.
Mayor of the City of Dearborn for twenty-one years, an alumnus of the Mayors’ Institute, and the 64th President of the United States Conference of Mayors, Mayor Guido will long be remembered for his grace, humor, and commitment to good city governance. Mayor Guido was tremendously impressed by his experience at the MICD Midwest in 2004, and later served on the MICD National Advisory Council. He was deeply committed to improving the urban design of Dearborn and other communities around the country.
The Mayors' Institute on City Design was graced by Mayor Guido's solid leadership and is clearly stronger for his remarkable contributions.
